During a routine inspection
We saw that people's wishes were respected, and that they were consulted about the care they received from Valley Care Direct. We found, however, that people's consent was not always properly sought for their care.
We saw that recruitment procedures helped to ensure the right people were employed at Valley Care Direct, and that staff received good training and support.
Although people were happy with their care, we found that care files did not always contain enough information, for example about health conditions, to ensure that appropriate care was given. We also found that the quality monitoring systems used at Valley Care Direct were not fully effective.
