During a routine inspection
Patients told us that they had any treatment options explained. One person said, 'The dentist explained the options really clearly and answered any questions really well.' Another person said "We talked about my treatment and the dentist gave me options telling me how to alleviate any problems.' People also told us that they were happy with the service. People's comments included 'I'm really pleased', and 'I wish I had come here years ago.' People also said they felt they were treated with respect and the staff were 'Really friendly' and 'really lovely'.
We found that there were systems in place to ensure that people's consent to treatment was recorded and records were held securely.
People were happy with the treatment provided and staff had received updated training to ensure they had the necessary skills to treat people.
There was not a formal recruitment process in place, although staff had all provided Criminal Record Bureau checks (CRB) to ensure they did not hold a criminal conviction that would prevent them from working with vulnerable people.
Quality assurance systems were in place to ensure accidents or incidents were recorded and questionnaires and audits were used to help ensure the practice was meeting people's needs.
