During a routine inspection
People told us they were involved in all decisions relating to their treatment. They said they were asked whether there had been medical changes the dentist would need to be aware of. They said they were given a treatment plan for any proposed procedures.
We were unable to talk with one of the dentists as they were unwell on the day of our visit. We did speak with the practice manager and a dental nurse.
The practice had policies and procedures in place to ensure children and vulnerable adults were protected.
The dental nurse explained how infection control was managed within the practice. They told us they had received infection control training as part of their qualification course work. We noted some of the seating in the treatment rooms was ripped and worn in places. These have now been removed from the practice.
We saw staff received annual appraisals where they could identify personal development goals and training. The dental nurse told us they attended staff meetings and 'lunch and learn' sessions.
Systems were in place to respond to any concerns or complaints. There was a suggestion box in the waiting room, which invited people to provide feedback on the service.
