During a routine inspection
We saw that the practice had comprehensive records for each patient's care. These included medical histories, dental evaluations, risk assessments and treatment plans. Both the assessment forms and treatment plans were signed by patients.
One person we spoke with told us the dentist had explained to them the treatment they needed and was very clear about the fees they would have to pay for each treatment. They said 'they always give you a choice.'
Staff we spoke to were able to describe the types of abuse they may come across and told us they would report it to the practice manager or the practice owner if they suspected abuse.
We were told that all staff received an annual appraisal and we were shown copies of the last ones completed. These appraisals focused on performance for the past year and training needs for the coming year.
