During a routine inspection
We spoke with the dentist, dental nurse and two patients. We undertook telephone surveys with four patients.
People we spoke with were very complimentary about the care and treatment they received from the dentist and the staff at the practice. They told us that they signed their treatment plans to give consent. One person told us, 'My family members have had more treatment than me and they always sign to give their consent.'
People told us that their treatment plans included an estimated cost of their treatment. They told us that they completed a medical questionnaire when they had their first appointment and this was updated on subsequent visits.
We were told by people who used the service that they were always provided with a written treatment plan. One person told us, 'Different treatment options were discussed with me. I was allowed time to consider the options.'
People told us that the environment and treatment room was always very clean and tidy. One person told us, 'The environment is very, very clean and very pleasant.'
People who used the service informed us they had never had the need to make a complaint. They told us they would talk directly to the dentist if they needed to make a complaint. People were sure that their complaint would be taken seriously and acted on by the dentist.
We the service was compliant with the five outcomes we looked at.
