During a routine inspection
We looked at the crew transport information sheets used by the service and saw they contained enough information to assist the staff to care for patients safely. The forms included information about people's previous medical history, background information, details of their current needs and an assessment of the patient's safety if left unattended in the ambulance. The manager told us: "We receive good information from the people who book our service so that we can effectively meet peoples needs."
We looked at the staff rota and saw there was sufficient staff on duty to provide a reliable service. The manger told us, "we always make sure there is enough staff to use all the ambulances we need to provide for people".
We spoke with a person who was involved with booking transport for a local care home. They told us that the service was excellent and that E-Zec Medical Transport Portsmouth worked well with them to meet people's needs.
We also spoke with seven members of staff who told us that they were well supported by the organisation. They also said they were provided with the training needed to support people effectively.
