During a routine inspection
We spoke with six patients who used the surgery and they were all positive about the treatment and care they received at the practice. One patient told us about the care they received, 'I am very happy with the service that is offered here. I have had an extraction and they have explained everything clearly' and 'This is a very good dentists in my mind.'
Emergency medical equipment was in place and staff undertook annual training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Decontamination processes were followed and hygiene procedures adhered to, minimising the risk of cross infection.
We looked at a sample of electronic records, which contained up to date medical information. Patients were provided with explanations of their treatment options.
There was evidence of checks being made on staff's suitability to be employed by the service. We spoke with three members of staff who felt they were well supported in their employment. Feedback from patients was sought via forms held in the reception area; results were used to inform improvements to the service. Audits were regularly undertaken and issues addressed as necessary.
