During a routine inspection
We saw signed patient declarations which demonstrated people understood the nature of the proposed treatment services and consented to them. People we spoke with said they were satisfied with the treatment provided. They said the dentists and dental hygienist explained the options available, the procedures and the fees, which enabled them to make informed choices.
People's privacy and dignity was respected; all consultations and treatment were undertaken in the privacy of the dentist's and dental hygienist's treatment rooms.
We found people's medical history had been checked at each examination and any changes in medication or health status were updated. This helped to inform the dentist of any issues that could impact upon treatment options.
Effective systems were in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection.
Staff were aware of their responsibilities in reporting any suspicion or allegations of abuse to the registered person.
