During a routine inspection
People told us they were very happy with the quality of their care. Comments included, “I definitely have confidence in the staff”; “There's always a nice, calm atmosphere that puts you at ease”; and, “I can't think of any way they could improve on what they do”.
People's oral health needs were thoroughly assessed before any treatment was started. They were given a written plan of their proposed course of treatment and were asked to give their consent before any dental work was started.
All care and treatment was given in a clean and hygienic environment. The provider followed appropriate professional guidance on keeping all areas of the practice, and all equipment used, clean and free from infection.
All the practice dentists and dental nurses were fully trained and kept up to date with advances in knowledge and skills. Staff were encouraged to take further qualifications, and to specialise. Staff were given an annual appraisal and their work was appropriately supervised by the provider.
People were asked their opinions on the service they received, and there was a complaints system in place. The provider took account of feedback to improve the quality of the care.
