During a routine inspection
One patient told us, 'You won't find a better dentist. It's not just the expertise it's the personal touch. They know me and my problems. I feel they genuinely care'. Another person said, 'They are truly excellent. You're reassured all the way through so you don't worry and always have time to consider your treatment'.
We reviewed people's clinical record and found that people had received an initial assessment. This considered their general medical condition, medication they were using and any known allergic reactions. This information had been used by the dentist when prescribing treatments so that they could be provided safely.
People were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment. We found high standards of cleanliness and infection control based on effective sterilisation and decontamination procedures.
Records showed that the dentists, dental nurses and the dental hygienists were registered with their professional body. This meant that they had completed approved courses of study and had demonstrated their fitness to practice.
There was an effective complaints system and the provider was clearly committed to recording, investigating and resolving complaints to the satisfaction of the service user.
