During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who used the service and looked at five feedback questionnaires that had been completed in December 2013. People were positive about the practice, telling us that staff put them at ease and always gave them options; they felt involved in their care. Comments included, 'it is a brilliant practice' and 'I am a highly satisfied patient'. Written information was available, if requested and the provider's website included information on the services provided and practice staff.

People received care that ensured their safety and welfare. They were treated by qualified staff who had been appropriately recruited in a clean, hygienic environment. Medical histories were taken and reviewed by their dentist to ensure that all treatment was safe. People were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had been followed. There were systems in place to deal with medical emergencies and all staff had received basic life support training.

There were systems in place to monitor the quality of service provided. Feedback was collected from people and any negative comments or complaints were investigated. Staff meetings took place monthly and a programme of audit was ongoing.
