Shortfalls had been identified in safeguarding people who used the services from abuse and cleanliness and infection control. At the time we judged that this had a minor impact on people who used the service.

Following our inspection completed in November 2013, MouthPeace Dental Practice provided us with an action plan detailing how they would address the shortfalls and stated they would be compliant in all areas by March 2014.

This inspection found MouthPeace Dental Practice ensured people who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

MouthPeace Dental Practice ensured people who used the service were fully protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had been followed.

We spoke with three patients, all of whom spoke highly of the care and treatment provided at the practice and of the professional manner of the staff. Comments included, 'a friendly professional service', and 'I recommend the practice they're very nice people'.

People's privacy, dignity and independence were respected. People's views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care.
