During a routine inspection
A patient survey completed between February and June 2012 showed that people were happy with their care. This was confirmed by two people that we spoke with. One person told us, 'I am happy with the service, I feel they are very good.' Another person said, 'I was absolutely amazed at the service.'
People's comments and views were listened to and respected. We saw that improvements had been made to the waiting room area following people's suggestions.
There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection and the staff were well trained and supported.
Staff were able to demonstrate that they could identify the signs of abuse. However, we could not be assured that all staff had sufficient knowledge regarding safeguarding people from abuse to enable them to report their concerns to an appropriate authority who was responsible for investigating such issues. The registered manager confirmed that staff would be receiving training in 2013.
The provider had an effective system in place to deal with complaints.
