During an inspection looking at part of the service
We found that all members of staff had received up to date training in safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. Additional scenario based safeguarding training took place during regular staff meetings and this training was recorded in the minutes. We spoke with four members of staff who gave clear details of the steps they would follow if they identified any safeguarding concerns. These steps were also detailed in the safeguarding policy which staff had signed to say they had it read and understood them.
We saw that new building works had been carried out to improve the decontamination facilities at the practice. This accounted for the gap between inspections. New procedures had been introduced to ensure any risks of contamination of sterilised instruments were minimised. All of the staff we spoke with were aware of the procedures.
We found the provider carried out additional infection control training at regular team meetings.
