During a routine inspection
People we spoke with were complimentary regarding the staff who worked at the practice. One person told us 'The receptionist is welcoming, I feel welcome, relaxed and at home.' Another person told us 'I am quite confident in the dentist.'
We were shown the documents completed for each new patient. These included a health assessment and medical history that was updated during subsequent visits. We saw there was a system in place for alerting the dentist to any medical conditions that may affect a patient's treatment.
Dental staff were aware of the best practice guidelines set by the Department of Health. This guidance tells dentists how they should decontaminate dental instruments so that they are properly cleaned between patients. We found the practice was following procedures recommended in the guidance.
We saw that the practice had good procedures in place to monitor the quality of the service.
