During a routine inspection
Everyone we spoke with said they were happy with care provided at the clinic. One person told us "The dentist always outlines the options". Another person said "Very happy...in fact recommended this practice to my friend". Patients were referred to the NHS community dental service or other dental services if appropriate, with their knowledge and involvement.
Staff were aware of how to identify and respond to suspected abuse of children and vulnerable adults. Staff demonstrated an understanding of a person's capacity to give consent and make decisions.
The practice was clean and well maintained. Systems were in place, such as staff training, infection control procedures and audits to ensure the spread of infection was reduced.
We saw evidence to indicate recruitment checks were undertaken before staff began work. Where one check had been omitted the Registered Manager provided evidence to indicate it was rectified immediately following the inspection.
