People's experience of the service

People felt safe at the home and with the staff who supported them. One person told us, "I feel safe and comfortable with staff. Nothing here to worry about." A relative told us they had total confidence in the staff and management at the home. One relative said their loved one was, "Absolutely in safe hands."
The staff were pro-active in supporting people, who had capacity, to make decisions about the risks they took in their day to day lives. Where people lacked capacity, the registered manager ensured people’s rights under the Mental Capacity Act were respected.
People were complimentary about the staff at the home. One person told us, "Staff are so friendly. All very nice indeed." A visiting relative said they never doubted the staff's ability and felt there was very good communication.
The home was adequately staffed to meet people's needs. People told us if they rang their call bells staff responded promptly.
People were able to make choices about their day to day lives. People told us they could please themselves what time they got up, when they went to bed and how they spent their day.
Visiting relatives said there were no restrictions on visiting and they were able to come and go as they pleased.
People felt able to raise any concerns. One person said they had raised an issue with the manager. They told us, "They say if there's anything you want, just tell them. I did raise something once and it was better after I had told someone."
