During an inspection in response to concerns
The people we spoke with said they liked living at the home and they received the care and support they needed. They thought the home was a safe place to live. One said, 'It's brilliant here.' Another commented, 'The best thing is the staff, they are lovely and pleasant to talk to.'
People had access to a varied activities programme that was tailored to their individual interests; it included outings and attending a day centre. They said it included things like learning new skills, meals at the local pub and shopping trips. People told us about playing in a football team, a holiday they enjoyed in Norfolk and a recent Halloween party.
People were encouraged to take part in jobs around the home to increase their independence. They said they helped with things like cleaning their own rooms and preparing meals. People told us how they were involved in planning the meals they wanted and said they sometimes helped with the food shopping.
We were told that they felt confident taking any concerns to the manager or any of the staff. They said staff helped them live their lives as they preferred. One person said, 'I can't say anything wrong about them (the staff) they talk to me and help me understand things.'
