During an inspection in response to concerns
The people we spoke with said they liked living at the home and confirmed they received the care and support they needed. They said they thought the home was a good safe place to live. One said 'It's lovely here.' They also confirmed they were involved in how the home was run. When we asked people if there was anything they would like to improve no-one identified anything they wanted to change.
People had access to a varied activities programme that was tailored to their individual interests and included outings and attending a day centre. One person told us about going to the coast for the day and added, 'We had a holiday to Centre Parks as well, it was great.' Another person told us about a summer ball they had all attended and how they were looking forward to a trip to an ice show.
People were encouraged to take part in jobs around the home to maintain their independence. They told us they helped with things like cleaning their own rooms and preparing meals. People told us how they talked about what meals to have on the menu in meetings and said they sometimes helped with the food shopping, which they enjoyed.
People told us they felt confident taking any concerns to the manager or any of the staff. One person said, 'If you have any worries you go to them and they sort them out.'
