During a routine inspection

We asked to speak with people who had attended an appointment during our visit to the service of which two people agreed to talk with us about their experiences. People we spoke with told us they were happy with their care and treatment and were fully informed about any treatment that had been recommended by the dentist. People's comments included: 'I am very 'dentist phobic' this is the first practice I've been to which has made me comfortable and willing to return. I have good access to appointments and everyone is really friendly with the focus being on good customer service. The dentist always explains what he's doing both before and during the treatment and my treatment options are explained to me.' 'Extremely good, they've really good. If I have a problem then I'll ring and they'll get me an appointment quickly.'

We found by speaking and observing staff that there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. We reviewed the infection prevention and decontamination records and policies and found them to be up to date.

We found by speaking with staff and reviewing records that the dentists and dental nurses regularly accessed training. The provider had an effective quality assurance system which included seeking the views of people registered at the practice. The practice had been awarded by the British Dental Association (BDA) the Good Practice Award.
