During a routine inspection
The Smile Zone had systems in place to gain and review consent from the people who used the service. People told us that they were always given enough information to be able to decide about the dental care offered to them. One person told us "All of my treatment is explained to me". Another said "I am never rushed to make a decision and can change my mind if I want. The dentist is very understanding". People indicated that they had been given enough information about their treatment and about any charges they may have to pay. They told us that the staff were courteous and that their treatment had met their dental needs.
People were confident that there were good standards of hygiene at the practice. One person told us "Every time I have been for an appointment the place is spotless and smells like a dentists should."
All aspects of the day to day running of the clinic was monitored, reviewed and updated at regular intervals through audits and risk assessments. This ensured that the practice could deliver a consistent quality service and make improvements where necessary.
