The survey results also indicated that most people were confident about the quality of treatment being provided. We saw appropriate records of treatment planning and delivery, and there were arrangements in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies. We found that treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare, and that accurate and appropriate records were maintained.
There were systems and equipment in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. A number of audit tools were in use from which actions were taken where needed. The practice had elected to take part in the NHS’s Dental Pilot Programme, a national quality improvement scheme. We found that the provider was assessing and monitoring quality and risk matters at the service.
