During a routine inspection
We were unable to speak with the person or the relatives of the person. However, we saw the care assessment form that had been completed with the assistance of the person's relatives. This included an assessment of the person's physical needs and associated risk assessments such as moving and handling and falls.
We saw that the service had made suitable arrangements to ensure that people were safeguarded against the risk of abuse. The registered manager was asked to provide copies of the CRB checks and references for the two care workers to us. Although some documents have been received these have not been sufficient to show that adequate checks had been carried out before the care workers started work.
The registered manager had carried out quality assurance as to the way in which the care was being provided by watching the interaction between the care worker and the person to whom care was provided and obtaining feedback from the person and their relatives.
