Date of assessment: 8 to 22 August 2024. This was a responsive inspection based on the length of time since the last inspection. CQC were also aware that there was an ongoing safeguarding enquiry being investigated by the local authority. A full comprehensive inspection was carried out to incorporate all areas or safety and risk management. Improvements were required in regard to the documentation at the home. Care plans were not always up to date, and daily notes did not fully detail each person’s daily activities. Accident and incidents were not being robustly analysed by the registered managers, meaning that learning opportunities could be missed. The registered managers had already started to address these issues, but they had not been fully embedded or effective at the time of assessment. Staff knew people well, and although documentation was not clear, people’s needs were being met. Staff demonstrated good knowledge of safeguarding and spoke of confidence in reporting any concerns they may have. People had access to appropriate external agencies, for example, GPs and mental health team. Professional feedback was positive and demonstrated a good working relationship with the home. We observed warm interactions between staff and people. The home was clean, tidy and well-maintained. Regular safety checks were being completed to ensure the environment remained safe.
