During a routine inspection
We saw that where there was a concern about a person's health and welfare needs, the advice and support of various professionals in the multi-disciplinary team had been sought.
People told us they considered their relative to be safe when care was provided by the service. People who used the service also told us they felt safe with the staff who supported them when care was provided.
We saw that Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) disclosure checks, and more recently Disclosure and Barring Service checks (DBS) were completed for all members of staff. The regional operations manager told us that such checks took place every three years for staff who had worked for Care UK for a longer period of time.
Staff told us that they felt well supported and had the information they needed for their roles. Comments from them included; "The management team are great. They are the best I have worked with" and "There is a very good continuous training programme".
We saw that care plans, staff files, accident and incident records and late / missed calls were audited regularly. When concerns were raised, an action plan was drawn up to enable progress to be made.
