Our view of the service
Date of assessment 11 April to 10 May 2024. This was a responsive assessment carried out due to concerns raised relating to the quality of the service provided. Commit2Care is a care agency, providing care and support to people living in their own homes. The assessment looked at the homecare service. The organisation does not currently provide supported living services. The report for the last inspection was published 19 January 2019. The overall rating for the service was good. For this assessment we looked at 6 quality statements including Safe systems, pathways and transitions; Safeguarding; Safe and Effective staffing; Governance, management and sustainability; Partnership and communities; Learning, improvement and innovation. We assessed these quality statements as good and the overall rating for the service remains good. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. At the time of this assessment the provider did not provide support to people with a learning disability or autistic people. The service was developing this specialist service.
People's experience of this service
We made telephone calls on 16 April 2024 and spoke with 8 people receiving care and support from Commit2Care and/or their family member. People told us they were involved in their assessment prior to support starting in their own homes. This was carried out by managers of the organisation or a professional involved in their care. People told us they had a copy of their care plan in their home and managers from the organisation had visited them. People told us they felt safe when supported by staff employed by Commit2Care. Calls usually took place at the agreed time and the majority of people knew which staff to expect. People felt staff were well trained following their induction period. People knew who to raise concerns with, and told us staff were kind and caring.
