Our view of the service
Florence House offers personal care and support for up to a maximum of 9 adults who have a mental health condition. Florence House provides care and support to people living in a 'supported living' setting, so that they can live as independently as possible. People's care and housing are provided under separate contractual agreements. CQC does not regulate premises used for supported living; this assessment looked at people's personal care and support. Not everyone using Florence House receives regulated activity; the CQC only inspects the service being received by people provided with ‘personal care’; help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also take into account any wider social care provided. At the time of this assessment there was 1 person at the service who was receiving a regulated activity. We carried out our on-site assessment on 27 November 2024, off site activity started on 23 November 2024 and ended on 30 November 2024. We gave the service 48 hours’ notice of the assessment. This was because we wanted to make sure someone would be available to support us with the assessment. The assessment was completed to follow up on the last assessment to see if improvements had been made. We found the service had made improvements and are no longer in breach of regulations.
People's experience of this service
People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice. Staff had a good understanding of people’s preference of care, staff promoted people’s independence. People told us they were happy living at the service.
