During a routine inspection
On the first day we visited the Atlas Project Ltd office in Exeter and looked at the records held there in respect of Hilltop. On the second day we visited the person in their own home, looked at the records held there, talked to three members of staff and one of the directors of Atlas Project Ltd.
The person who received the care service had some verbal communication difficulties. We found that the staff team had developed good communication skills and were able to understand what the person said and hold conversations with them.
When we arrived the person was just about to go out for the day. The staff team supported the person to lead an active life.and make choices about where they wanted to go, and what they wanted to do. The person had their own transport and this was driven by the staff to take the person to the places they wanted to go to.
We also talked to a relative and a social care professional on the telephone. They gave us examples of how the service provided by Atlas Project Ltd had made significant and positive improvements to the person's quality of life
