During a routine inspection
We found that the practice had taken steps to ensure that patients and staff were protected from the risk of infection, including cleaning of instruments and the environment. Dental staff wore protective clothing and spoke about the measures necessary to ensure good hygiene. We saw evidence of servicing of cleaning equipment.
Staff had received informal training around safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. They knew the signs that someone could be the victim of abuse. They told us that they would not hesitate to take immediate action.
We reviewed some clinical notes. Medical history information was maintained and updated at each visit. We saw that patients were required to consent to any substantial dental work in writing. Guidelines were followed around the safe use of radiation equipment.
