Updated 4 October 2024
We carried out this on-site, announced assessment on 11 November 2024. We found the practice had not met all regulations. The practice did not have systems in place to manage risks for patients, staff, equipment and the premises. Recruitment procedures did not reflect current legislation. Leadership at the practice was ineffective which meant that there was a lack of oversight of the day-to-day management of the service. We found that systems to support continuous improvement were ineffective. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance. Patients were treated with dignity and respect. The practice is in Cambridge and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 3 dentists, 1 hygienist, 1 dental therapist, 1 dentist with a special interest in orthodontics, 2 trainee dental nurses and 2 receptionists. The provider was not complying with regulations 12, 17, 18 and 19 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. Full details of the regulations the provider was not meeting are within the quality statement section of the report. In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded.
