Our view of the service

Date of assessment 7 May to 5 July 2024 This assessment was a responsive assessment to follow up on concerns we had about the service. Overall, we looked at 4 quality statements in Safe and Well-led First City Nursing Services is a large domiciliary care agency (DCA). The service provides personal care to people living in their own houses and flats in the community. We began a responsive assessment on 7 May 2024 to follow up on information received, using our new regulatory approach. Overall, we looked at 4 quality statements in Safe and Well-led. At the time of our assessment there were over 500 people receiving support from First City Nursing. We found clear safeguarding processes were in place and were understood by staff. Staff had been recruited safely and there were well- trained staff to meet people’s needs. Staff told us they had the support they needed to do their job well. Staff were able to contact the management team at any time for support and guidance. We found the service completed various quality assurance assessments to review the performance of the service and actions were taken by the management team to make improvements. Most people spoke positively about First City Nursing Services, however some people said visits were late and did not always receive a response from the office about their concerns. First City Nursing Services continue to demonstrate innovation and good partnership working to help the team learn and make improvements to improve people’s experiences.
