During a routine inspection
During and after our visit we spoke with four patients who all confirmed they had their treatment plan explained to them. One patient said: 'I have a thorough examination of my whole mouth and it is discussed every time".
We saw that at this practice there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The practice had a designated decontamination room. This had been designed to accommodate all the equipment necessary for decontamination and to meet best practice as described in the Department of Health guidance. Decontamination procedures were separated from all clinical areas.
The practice carried out a patient satisfaction survey in March 2013 and was in the process of analysing the results of the most recent survey which had been carried out in November 2013. The results from March 2013 showed that 100% of the patients were satisfied with the service in relation to the cleanliness of the clinic, the welcome they were given by staff and how clear the dentists were in their explanations.
