During a routine inspection
We saw that policies and procedures were accessible to staff and emergency medical equipment was in place. Decontamination processes were seen to be followed and hygiene procedures adhered to.
We looked at records, which were factual and up to date. Patients' medical information, treatment plans and personal preferences were regularly reviewed and updated.
We spoke with three members of staff who were suitably qualified and had undertaken relevant training during their employment. We observed staff members interacting politely and with respect towards patients.
We spoke with three patients, all of whom felt that the service delivery was good and the staff respectful and courteous. One patient said 'The receptionist puts people at ease immediately; you are involved in all decisions and not rushed.' Another said 'It was very reassuring to be shown a model of the treatment I was going to have and to be given an explanation'.
We observed that there was a complaints procedure and that comments and feedback were sought by the practice. These were used to inform changes and improvements to the service delivered.
