Records were kept about each patient and stated their doctor, next of kin and medical and/or mental health condition. Any additional information such as, requiring a wheelchair, was also included.

The provider had regular meetings with other services to ensure everyone was happy with the standard of transport being offered. Records were kept of those meetings and any action required.

Staff had been trained in first aid and dealing with emergencies. Checks had been made on all first aid and oxygen equipment carried in vehicles.

Adequate checks were made to ensure each vehicle was roadworthy and had suitable amounts of equipment for staff to use.

People told us staff always asked them how they liked to travel and if they had any special needs. One person said, 'They take the car right up to my door, as close as you can get. It's perfect; they help me into my house. They always ask if there is anything else they can do before they leave. They have the best drivers.'

We asked people who used the service if they knew how to complain. One person said, 'I can find nothing wrong with the service, it's very, very good, but I would speak out if it wasn't.'

The people who use the service told us the vehicles were always clean. One person said, 'It's always very clean. They look after you.'
