During an inspection looking at part of the service
We saw that a legionella risk assessment had been completed and that water monitoring checks were carried out.
We saw that a legionella risk assessment had been completed and that water monitoring checks were carried out.
We looked at the care records of six people who used the practice. These showed us that people's treatment had been discussed with them and, where necessary, copies of their treatment plans provided.
During our visit we observed staff treating people in a kind, professional and respectful manner. The people we spoke with told us that all the staff at the surgery were very helpful, pleasant and always explained everything to them in relation to their treatments.
Appropriate personal protective equipment was available in all areas of the practice. The practice had some systems in place to ensure people were cared for in a clean and hygienic environment, with a separate decontamination room that was restricted to staff only.
We saw that the practice had systems in place to protect people from the risk of harm and abuse and that quality assurance monitoring was carried out.
We saw that computerised records were accessed only by authorised staff and that paper records were being transferred onto this system. We noted that there were no records to evidence that cleaning schedules were being completed.
