During an inspection looking at part of the service
Prior to our visit we reviewed all the information we had received from the provider, including the action plan they sent us detailing how they would achieve compliance. During the visit we spoke with the registered manager and the provider. We also looked at some of the records held in the service.
The service was registered for two regulated activities one of which was 'Management of supply of blood and blood derived products.' The registered manager told us that they were not providing that service at present so we did not inspect that regulated activity.
We found the provider had improved their procedures so they did not take responsibility for patients' medication. We also found the provider had taken steps to improve their recruitment of new ambulance crew members and ensured they received the training they required to carry out their duties. .
We found the provider assessed and monitored the quality of the service provided, including receiving regular feedback from patients who used the service.
