Well-led
People and staff told us the home was well-led. The registered manager was respected and created a supportive, inclusive environment within the home. Staff felt well supported in their roles and were confident to speak up about any concerns they may have.

Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders
Staff spoke positively about the registered manager and told us they enjoyed working at Dalvey House. A member of staff told us, “[registered manager] is very approachable, if I have a problem or need to know anything.” Another member of staff said, “I really enjoy the work… The [registered manager] is very, very nice and supports us.” The registered manager spoke of their vision of ensuring people living at Dalvey House were provided with the best care and support. They were proud of their staff team who worked hard to ensure people received individualised care and support. The registered manager kept people and their families well informed and had built effective relationships with a variety of health and social care professionals such as GPs, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists.
There was an open, honest and supportive culture provided by the management of the home. Staff had clear roles and responsibilities and felt fully supported. There were clear communication systems which ensured staff were kept up to date with all aspects within the home. Governance systems were in place to check the quality and safety of the home. In addition to this the provider and registered manager told us they were seeking independent support to provide additional scrutiny of the systems within the home.
