During a routine inspection
We saw that the care provided was safe and took account of individual people's needs. Dental notes had been completed and records we looked at clearly outlined the treatment options and the risk and benefits of each.
We were shown how dental instruments were scrubbed, washed, rinsed and sterilised between patient use and how these were stored. Staff were able to demonstrate a safe and hygienic cleaning cycle of instruments from dirty to clean.
The practice manager showed us audits and policies related to health, safety, hygiene, equipment, and servicing. Contracts, policies, monitoring records and audits were complete and current. We also saw that one of the dental partners was responsible for carrying out annual audits on the safety and quality of the practice.
