During a routine inspection
We spoke with five people who use the service and four family carers. All were positive in their view of the service received. One person said staff treated their mother with 'the utmost respect' and said they were 'brought to life when staff arrived'. Others said the service was 'fantastic' and 'just excellent', 'staff are so friendly and know just what to do' and another, 'staff are incredibly reliable, sensitive and thoughtful'.
We were told that staff were on time, and where there were changes people were kept informed.
We examined six personal care files and saw how people had been involved with their care. Care files were well organised, clear and up to date. We noted that people were supported in their own time and were not rushed.
Staff we spoke with explained and described how they would respond if abuse was suspected. Procedures demonstrated that appropriate measures and systems were followed in response to suspicions or allegations of abuse.
We examined six staff files and saw there was a comprehensive recruitment and training programme in place which ensured staff were suitably skilled to undertake their role.
We found there were systems which identified, assessed and monitored the quality of the service provided which meant that people could have confidence in the service provided.
