During a routine inspection
'I like it here we have fun.'
'The food is very good, there is always a choice.'
'The staff know what they are doing and the care is good.'
'I get on very well with the staff.'
'The staff are lovely, when I come to visit they are always really helpful.'
'The staff are very attentive and make an effort to get to know all of the family. We always feel welcome and at home.'
We spent time in the communal areas and found a warm, friendly and homely atmosphere. People looked well cared for and their dignity was maintained.
During our SOFI observation we found that staff had positive interactions with people, they spoke patiently and kindly whilst offering choices and involving people. People also had positive interactions and communication with each other.
Our conversations with people and staff, together with observations on the day of our inspection evidenced that there were enough staff on duty. We also saw some good practice indicating staff who worked in the home were appropriately qualified to do their jobs.
The provider had appropriate systems in place for gathering and evaluating information about the quality of care the service provided.
