We asked the provider for an action plan. This was sent to us in July 2013. The Statement of Purpose did not reflect the services provided and we asked for this to be reviewed. We have received a copy of the Statement of Purpose which now accurately reflects the service provided.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people using the service, two relatives and two care workers. People using the service told us their privacy, dignity and independence were taken into account. People told us they were asked about the support they needed and found care workers to be flexible when meeting their needs. One relative told us 'we feel comfortable with the support provided and because of the flexibility from staff we feel the care given is good'.

People using the service told us they found the care workers to be helpful, polite and well meaning. They said care workers followed the care plans and were flexible in their approach to meeting their care needs. People we spoke with did not identify any issues or concerns with the staff employed at the agency. One person told us 'staff are respectful of my property and they knock and wait before entering' another person told us they felt safe with the staff who visited them at home.

We asked people and their relatives what they would do if they were unhappy. People told us they would tell the manager and the issues would be dealt with. We asked people if they were asked for their views about their care and treatment and the day to day running of the service. They all told us they were offered the opportunity to make suggestions about how their care could be altered or improved where necessary.

The current Statement of Purpose did not reflect the services provided and we have asked for this to be reviewed.
