During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 16 September 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. The practice had systems to manage risks. However, some of the health and safety processes and procedures should be reviewed to ensure staff follow published guidance, in particular, oversight of infection control procedures, checking of the medical emergency kit and systems to document and investigate incidents and accidents. The practice is in Sheffield and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice is part of a health centre which includes GP and pharmacy services. There was step free access to the practice and a car park, including dedicated parking for disabled people. The practice had 2 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the dentist, a trainee dental nurse, 2 receptionists and the practice manager.
