This assessment took place between 21 April and 10 May 2024. We visited the provider’s office on 23 April 2024. Caremark Southampton is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care services to people in their own homes. The service specialises in providing care for older adults. The overall rating for this service combines scoring from the key questions we looked at during this assessment and key question scores in line with findings from our last inspection, where the service was rated good. There were effective governance systems in place, which helped to ensure that the quality of the service was monitored and improvements were promoted. The registered manager demonstrated enthusiasm, confidence and competence in their role. they had a clear vision of how the service should be run and the values it should embody. Staff were positive about the management and culture at the service and told us they felt valued and supported. There were enough staff in place to meet people’s needs. Staff had received training relevant to their role and ongoing support to promote their development. There were care plans in place which detailed the care people required and risk assessments documented how identified risk would be monitored and reduced. The provider ensured that people’s care plans clearly identified the level of independence people wished to maintain around their medicines management. There were systems in place to monitor the administration of people’s medicines to help ensure they were administered as prescribed. There were systems in place to help ensure people did not suffer abuse or come to avoidable harm. Staff ensured they wore appropriate personal protective equipment whilst supporting people with their personal care. This helped to reduce the risk of infections spreading.
