Overall inspection

Good

Updated 21 April 2021

We carried out an announced focused inspection at Dr Sashi Shashikanth on 9 March 2021 as we received information of concern from stakeholders regarding patient access to Covid-19 vaccinations. We looked at how patients were accessing the vaccine as part of this inspection.

Dr Sashi Shashikanth was rated good overall and for all key questions at their previous inspection on 24 April 2018 and the Annual Regulatory Review conducted on 12 December 2019 found no action to be taken as ratings remained unchanged.

This inspection looked at the following key questions:

  • Effective
  • Responsive
  • Well-led

We based our judgement of the quality of care at this service on a combination of:

  • what we found when we inspected
  • information from our ongoing monitoring of data about services and
  • information from the provider, patients, the public and other organisation

We have rated this practice as good overall and good for all population groups.

We found that:

  • Patients received effective care and treatment that met their needs.
  • The practice organised and delivered services to meet patients’ needs. Patients could access care and treatment in a timely way.
  • The way the practice was led and managed promoted the delivery of high-quality, person-centre care.

The areas where the provider should make improvements are:

  • Continue progress to improve the uptake of childhood immunisations and cervical screening.

Details of our findings and the evidence supporting our ratings are set out in the evidence tables.
