Our view of the service
Date of assessment 17 July 2024 to 30 August 2024. This assessment was undertaken to ensure the provider had addressed the shortfalls identified at the last inspection. The service had made improvements and is no longer in breach of the regulations. We looked at 15 quality statements in 2 key questions. Staff now assessed and mitigated risks. Care plans guided safe practice. The provider now had enough trained staff to ensure people’s safety and to meet their needs. Staff were supported by the management team and had regular spot checks, one-to-one supervision and wellbeing meetings. There were now appropriate auditing systems in place to monitor the service and to provide oversight for the management team.
People's experience of this service
People's experience of the service was good. People were involved in planning their care and told us they were happy with the service provided and felt safe with the staff. Comments included, “He has regular carers and they arrive on time”, “They stay for the allocated time slot and he is not rushed” and “They are on time and I have had no missed calls.” One person told us, “I feel very safe with my carers.” Another said, “The carers have got to know my husband well and he likes them and this has happened very quickly as we have only been using the service for 4 months.” However, some people we spoke with were unhappy that Invictus were being withdrawn from providing their care. One relative told us, “[It] is unsettling, particularly when [person] has a good care package that he feels safe and secure with and regular carers that he trusts and knows well.”
