Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included; ‘After previously fearing visits to a dentist, (Clinician) instantly put me at my ease and I have enjoyed every visit since’. ‘(Clinician) is a friendly, efficient and caring dental surgeon with good explanation of treatment to be carried out.’ ‘The best example I can give is the time (Clinician) takes to clean, treat and explain what he is doing and why. He goes to great lengths to make my teeth healthy and advise how I can keep them so. He is the best dental surgeon I have encountered and a credit the profession and JP Ward & Associates.’ Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.

We observed very positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone throughout our assessment. Staff told us of occasions where they had supported more vulnerable patients and demonstrated genuine compassion and concern for patients’ wellbeing. Staff were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights. Staff were aware of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles. Leaders described how they supported the wellbeing of staff.
