During a routine inspection
The St. Judes clinic provides a local service to reduce the need for people to travel long distances.
The provider had systems in place to ensure that people had consented to their treatment, tests or procedures, before any service was provided. People told us they were fully informed about treatments and procedures and understood what they were consenting to.
People received care and treatment appropriate to their needs. People's medical history and their general wellbeing were considered before treatment was given. People who used the service told us their treatment had been fully explained to them and met their expectations.
Midland Eye St. Judes is based within a private clinic facility. All cleaning in the complex; including the Midland Eye treatment rooms was done by the St. Judes hospital staff. Midland Eye staff ensured equipment they used was cleaned in between each person being seen. A person who used the service told us. 'It's always been fabulous'.
People told us that staff were very professional and knowledgeable. We saw that appropriate checks had been carried out to ensure staff were of good character, suitably qualified and able to provide appropriate care and treatment.
We saw that people's records were kept secure. Records were updated either in their presence or before any other people were seen.
