During a routine inspection
The provider had systems in place to ensure that people had consented to their treatment, tests or procedures, before any service was provided. People told us they were fully informed about treatments and procedures and understood what they were consenting to.
People received care and treatment appropriate to their needs. People who used the service told us their treatment had been fully explained to them and met their expectations.
Midland Eye Cobridge is based within a purpose built NHS facility. All cleaning in the complex; including the Midland Eye treatment rooms is undertaken by the NHS staff. Staff had a good understanding of infection prevention and control. A person who used the service told us. 'It's beautifully clean'.
People told us that staff were very professional and knowledgeable. We saw that appropriate checks had been carried out to ensure staff were of good character, suitably qualified and able to provide appropriate care. A person who used the service said, 'They knew why I was there, they had my records and they explained everything to me.'
We saw that people's records were kept secure. Records were updated either in the persons presence or before anyone else was seen.
