During an inspection in response to concerns
The practice offers both on line appointments and prescriptions but does not offer extended hours. There is information about complaints on the practice website and leaflets are available in reception. The practice had several complaints about the appointment system on the NHS choices website and in response had moved to a Doctor First type system where all requests for same day appointments are triaged by a doctor and are dealt with the same day. The practice has an active PPG and puts out regular patient newsletters.
This inspection was triggered by a complaint from the niece of a 96 year old lady who died following a period of care in Eton Park residential home in May 2014. NHS England had conducted a thorough investigation of this case and found that the practice had acted appropriately and the complaint was dismissed however this information was only made available after this inspection had been completed.
This inspection focussed on the clinical care that was offered to patients living in a care home.
