Date of assessment 22 February to 7 May 2024. Caring Connections is a domiciliary care agency. The service provides personal care to people living in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. There were 55 people receiving personal care at the time of the inspection. We received information that indicated that improvements may have been needed in relation to the management of people’s personal care delivery. We assessment a total of 8 quality statements from the safe, effective, caring and responsive key questions and found no areas of concern. We spoke with 8 people/relatives, 8 staff and the registered manager. We reviewed a selection of care planning documents of 7 people who were in receipt of personal care and medicines support. In addition, we reviewed policies, procedures and records relevant to this assessment. The service was safe, effective, caring and responsive. We found that appropriate systems were in place to promote the safe management and oversight of people’s care and support. Staff had received training for their role and regular checks and reviews took place to monitor the service people received in relation to personal care and medicines management.
